Jackson police officers and Jackson County sheriff's deputies surrounded a house around 9:45 a.m. after receiving a call that Caleb Cannons was barricaded inside with a gun. Cannons, whose relatives said had recently returned from drug rehab, reportedly yelled from a window that he couldn't handle his life's problems and had already relapsed. Police said they negotiated with Cannons for three hours before hearing a single gunshot. Officers went inside and found Cannons had shot himself in an upstairs bedroom.
