The congregation of the Asia Missionary Baptist Church was having a heated disagreement about the firing of their pastor. Two police officers who were watching over the congregation were just about to leave when Cacedrick White, the son of one of the church deacons arrived at the scene carrying a shotgun. He fired it once in the parking lot. An officer fired back three times, killing White.
