A jury in Denver County Court has found Denver police officer Christian Devinny guilty of careless driving, a class 2 traffic misdemeanor, in connection with a fatal traffic accident that killed a man. He was originally charged with careless driving resulting in death. The accident happened just before midnight on October 6, 2001 in the 1800 block of south Colorado Boulevard. Devinny was speeding to another call when he hit a pedestrian, Bruce Rice, who was crossing Colorado Boulevard.
