Deadly force
Deputies responded to a home around 10:53 p.m. after a report of a physical disturbance. When deputies arrived, they reportedly found Brian Benfield armed with a shotgun. Benfield had allegedly attacked two family members with a knife. As deputies walked toward the house, Benfield reportedly showed a shotgun. Benfield failed to drop the shotgun and allegedly it toward one of the deputies. Two deputies shot and killed him.
