Police responded to a suspicious car driven by Brian Gaither, police said. Officer Jacob Steele thought the car was involved in a previous weapons violation with a known suspect. Gaither, with Steele pinned between the car door and frame, drove away, with Steele being dragged alongside a building. Steele shot and killed him. Backup officers found the Steele pinned between a car and a building and broke a window to move the car and free the officer.
