Troopers were pursuing a 2020 Toyota Tacoma on I-40 at around 7:41 a.m. The driver of the truck, later identified as 25-year-old Michael Don Shepherd of Pegram, fled and police pursued him until he entered an intersection and struck a 2021 Nissan Versa, killing 24-year-old Amanda Chatman and her 3-year-old and 4-year-old children, Braydon and Alexton.
