Around 1 p.m., officers responded to a call of a stabbing at an apartment, where 19-year-old Brandeis Codde used a kitchen knife to stab his 34-year-old stepfather. An arriving officer saw Codde outside the apartment still armed with the knife and tried to engage him. Codde did not comply with orders to disarm and began to walk away as a second officer arrived. The second officer deployed a Taser to no effect. The first officer then shot and killed Codde as he allegedly charged the officer with two knives.
