Less-than-lethal force

Officer Margolis responded to a theft in progress at a Wal-Mart. Weckar ran into a brushy area and reached for his pants. Officer Margolis pointed a gun at him. Officer Hicks responded, armed with a taser. Corporal Clark told Weckar to surrender, which he did. Officers and Sergeant Carmichael of Willow Creek PD walked Weckar to a patrol other. He collapsed. Officer Margolis, who had medical training, provided medical care until paramedics responded.
