A police officer stopped for a suspicious other about 11 p.m. A husband and wife inside the other fled, and the officer pursued. That chase ended in Pocono Township. The man and woman had a gun in the other refused to get out. The man surrendered, giving the weapon to the woman. The woman, Betty Jane Tibaldi, shot at police. Troopers shot and killed her.
