Winford "Trey" Terrell Adams, an off-duty deputy with the Madison County Sheriff's Office, was arrested by Athens-Clarke County police for the murder of a 26-year-old man in what they described as a domestic dispute. The Athens-Clark County police responded to a call and found the victim shot multiple times. Adams was questioned at the scene and taken into custody. The investigation is being conducted by the Athens agency. The GBI is not involved with this investigation.
