Benjamin "B.J." Kennedy's mother told police her son had taken eight pills and was armed with a shotgun. Kennedy allegedly opened fire on Officer William Mattingly near the back door of the house. He then came to the front of the house and taunted police brandishing the shotgun. An officer shot and killed Kennedy.
