Biography
Behrouz Mansouri was an Iranian civilian from Bushehr and the husband of Mansoureh Heydari. A father of two young children, he joined peaceful protests with his wife on January 8, 2026. That evening, both were shot and killed by Iranian security forces. Their deaths, which occurred side by side in the street, became emblematic of the lethal force used against ordinary families during the protest crackdown.
Behrouz Mansouri lived in Bushehr, a port city in south-western Iran. He was married to Mansoureh Heydari, a nurse at the Social Security Hospital, and together they had two children aged approximately 7–10. According to family sources and eyewitnesses, the couple joined demonstrations on January 8, 2026, as protests spread across multiple Iranian cities. They were unarmed civilians. During the protest, security forces stationed near and inside the Qoran Mosque on Ashouri Street opened fire on demonstrators. Behrouz was struck by a live bullet to the head and died at the scene. His wife was shot shortly afterward when she returned toward him. Their bodies were withheld for several days before being returned to the family for burial under heavy security pressure.
