Aysar ‘Abdel Rahim Taha al-Halabi, aged 48, was a Palestinian civilian from the al-Shati’ refugee camp in Gaza. On May 19, 2021, his body was discovered beneath the rubble of a residential home that had been previously targeted by an Israeli airstrike. He was among the many victims of a series of heavy bombardments carried out by the Israeli military in densely populated civilian areas. Aysar’s death was part of a larger tragedy that saw multiple families in the camp and nearby neighborhoods suffer devastating losses due to airstrikes on residential buildings.

Aysar ‘Abdel Rahim Taha al-Halabi was a 48-year-old resident of the al-Shati’ refugee camp, one of the most crowded areas in the Gaza Strip. Known locally as "Beach Camp," al-Shati’ houses tens of thousands of Palestinian refugees and their descendants, most of whom were displaced during the 1948 Nakba.
