On the evening of 21 February 2025, 12-year-old Ayman Nassar al-Himouni was visiting his grandparents' home in Hebron with his family. Before leaving, he was asked by his uncle to deliver money to another nearby relative. As Ayman and his 10-year-old brother walked outside, they became aware of Israeli soldiers operating in the neighborhood and attempted to return to the house. According to testimonies collected by B'Tselem, Ayman was suddenly shot in the back while turning around. His uncle tried to rescue him but stated that soldiers fired toward him, forcing him to retreat temporarily. After the soldiers withdrew, Ayman was rushed by his family to Mohammad Ali Al Muhtaseb Government Hospital, where medical staff were unable to save him. His mother stated that Ayman told her, "Mom, the soldiers shot me," before losing consciousness. Family members said he had not been participating in clashes or throwing stones at the time he was shot.
Biography
Ayman Nassar Muhammad Taysir al-Himouni was a 12-year-old Palestinian boy from Hebron in the occupied West Bank. He was the eldest of four children born to Nassar al-Haymuni and Anwaar al-Haymuni. Ayman was a seventh-grade student described by his family as an ordinary child who enjoyed spending time with relatives. On the day of his death, he was visiting his grandparents' home before being fatally shot during an Israeli military raid.
Ayman Nassar Muhammad Taysir al-Himouni was a Palestinian child living with his parents and three younger siblings in Hebron. As the eldest child in the family, he attended seventh grade and was remembered by relatives as a caring and responsible boy. On 21 February 2025, he accompanied his mother and siblings to visit his grandparents. Shortly before the family planned to return home, his uncle asked him to deliver money to another nearby uncle.
