Biography
Ayat Khadoura was a young Palestinian independent video blogger from Gaza who dedicated her voice to documenting daily life under siege. Known for sharing raw, emotional footage of civilian suffering, she became a witness for her people during the war, posting continuous updates after October 7, 2023. On 20 November 2023, she was killed in an Israeli airstrike shortly after publishing what became her final video message, where she tearfully asked when the war would end and who would remain to tell the story of Gaza.
Ayat Khadoura was an independent content creator who used her camera and voice as her form of resistance. She chronicled Gaza’s streets, struggles, and humanity—long before the 2023 war—and gained recognition for her authentic, unfiltered approach to storytelling. When the war intensified after October 7, she refused to stop reporting, even as journalists, homes, internet lines, and entire neighborhoods were being destroyed.
Her final weeks were spent moving between shelters, ruins, and crowded streets, capturing the suffering of displaced families and destroyed communities. Her emotional honesty made her videos widely shared, especially by those outside Gaza who wanted real voices rather than official narratives. In her last recorded message, with tears on her face, Ayat asked:
