Firefighter and Marine veteran Zundel, reportedly drunk, was walking his neighborhood firing a shotgun at least three times. Confronted with an off-duty deputy who lived a few houses away, the two men fell into a dispute. Zundel was fatally wounded by the deputy and his death was found to be justified.
