Deadly force
Alaouf, a former corrections officer, apparently threatened to kill his parents, burn down their house and kill police after buying a small arsenal of weapons. During a prolonged gunfight, Alaouf fired and wounded a number of officers before being shot and killed himself. Interviews with neighbors revealed that Alaouf lived reclusively and may have suffered from mental illness.
