Seventeen-year-old Antoine (variously reported as Antwoin or Antwain) White and a 15-year-old partner tried to mug an off-duty NYPD officer with a cane and by gesturing as if with a gun. White struck the officer in the face with the cane. He was fatally shot; the accomplice fled but was caught later.
