Deadly force
Police went to a home to serve a search warrant related to an investigation involving a missing person and possible homicide, police said. Officers were at the home gathering information before the man was aware of their presence, and when Anthony Legens realized they were there, he began shooting at them from inside the home. The deputy was shot about an hour into the exchange of gunfire, and police shot and killed Legens.
