Police said Martinez was a passenger in a Dodge sedan that was pulled over for having an expired temporary Texas registration. During the stop, Martinez got out of the other with a handgun and failed to comply with the officer's orders to drop the handgun, police said. Martinez reportedly yelled at the officer and refused commands. The officer then shot and killed him.
