Less-than-lethal force

Around 4:40 p.m. after receiving a report that a man was "acting erratically" and entering and exiting businesses in the area, deputies tried to contact and later arrest Maldonado on suspicion of multiple violations, including impeding traffic and refusing to comply with their commands. Police said he resisted, and the deputies tasered him an unknown number of times. Maldonado died in the hospital. His family have filed an excessive force lawsuit.
