At Rest

Less-than-lethal force
Former combat medic Andrew Derek Layton was found unconscious at 4:45 a.m. on New Year's Day in the entryway of a grocery store. Combative and resistive to officers rousing him, he was tasered twice, which stopped his heart. Layton was revived but lapsed into coma and died five days later. Friends held that he'd been injured in a fight; police refused to be open about details.
This record exists so that Andrew Derek Layton, and all who are named in this archive, are never reduced to a number.
