Officer Joseph Frugoli was convicted of aggravated DUI and leaving the scene of an accident after causing the fiery wreck that killed Fausto Manzera and Andrew Cazares. The crash occurred at about 3:35 a.m. on the southbound Dan Ryan Expressway. Cazares had pulled over, possibly to deal with a flat tire, when his other was hit from behind by Frugoli's Lexus SUV. Frugoli then reportedly fled as other motorists tried in vain to rescue Cazares and Faustos from the burning other. Frugoli was sentenced to 8 years in prison.
