Officers responded at 11:15 p.m. to a reported assault. Police encountered homeless man Andrew A. Williams outside his girlfriend's apartment, where he had allegedly just stabbed his girlfriend with a screwdriver he was still brandishing. Police ordered Williams to drop the weapon, and when he didn't two officers shot and killed Williams.
