Jones and the driver of the gold Tahoe he rode in fled from an early-morning traffic stop, beginning a rolling three-hour firefight ultimately involving SWAT forces, helicopters, and a BearCat police assault other. The driver was apprehended and charged with attempted murder. An LAPD officer had his leg shattered by gunfire. Jones was fatally shot.
