Biography

Amir-Mohsen Allahyari was an Iranian civilian from Fardis, Karaj, who took part in the January 2026 nationwide protests calling for political change. On January 9, 2026, he joined a peaceful street demonstration alongside six friends. During the protest, Iranian security forces opened fire with live ammunition, killing him and the six others at the scene. His death certificate and burial permit officially confirmed that he was killed by a firearm projectile, making his case a documented example of the use of lethal force against civilians.

Born in 1978, Amir-Mohsen Allahyari lived in Fardis, a district of Karaj, located west of Tehran. During the January 2026 protests—sparked by severe economic hardship and growing opposition to the Islamic Republic—he responded to calls for nationwide demonstrations and went into the streets with six friends.
On January 9, 2026, security forces fired live ammunition at the group. Amir-Mohsen was fatally shot, and all six companions present were also killed, though their identities have not yet been independently confirmed by IranWire. Despite common state pressure on families to falsify causes of death, his family managed to obtain an official burial permit stating the true cause: impact from a firearm projectile.
