About midnight, deputies responded to a home after a 911 caller said a man was threatening to shoot a woman and their 1-year-old son. The victim ran to a neighbor's house, but the child was still inside the home with Amir Keita Stevens when deputies arrived. As deputies approached, Stevens ran from the home, got into his car and drove away. The child was unharmed. As a deputy chased Stevens, he lost control, ran off the road, struck an MCAT bus stop, a power pole and two trees, killing him.
