Deputies responded to reports of a person acting strangely at about 12:53 p.m. When the deputy arrived, he began to fight with the man. During the altercation, the man reportedly took the deputy's handheld radio and Taser. The deputy called for backup, officials said. Other deputies arrived. The man reportedly charged at them holding a wooden stake and began to assault them, and they shot and killed him.
