At about 8 a.m., an officer was flagged down by a person who said a man with a knife was walking northbound on Central. The officer spotted the shirtless man armed with a knife. Officers who responded reportedly saw the man confront a person with the knife, prompting that person to run away. Police made contact with the man, who reportedly ran at them, and police shot and killed him.
