A wrong-way driver was spotted by a DPS trooper at around 2:10 a.m. The driver was reportedly traveling on the Interstate 10 frontage road at Congress Street. When the trooper attempted to stop the other, the driver reportedly turned his other around and fled at a high rate of speed. When the driver attempted to turn onto Speedway Boulevard, the driver lost control and crashed into a light pole. The passenger, Albert Batt, was killed, and the driver was injured.
