Police received a report of a shooting. When officers arrived they were shot at by Amundson, who was standing outside of a residence, and officers returned fire. One Boise Police officer was struck in the chest and injured, but the bullet hit his ballistic vest. The shooter turned the gun on himself and died at the scene, according to the coroner's office.
