Deadly force

Akai Gurley and his girlfriend were walking down the stairwell of his apartment building. Officer Peter Liang, one floor above Gurley, claims his gun went off accidentally as he patrolled the building stairwell, which was against policy. The bullet ricocheted and shot Gurley in the chest. Liang called his union rep instead of emergency aid for Gurley, who bled to death in the stairwell.
