Ahmad Walid at-Talla’ al-Omar, aged 30, lived in the Gaza Strip and was a resident of Nusseirat refugee camp, an area often subjected to severe Israeli military assaults. On May 12, 2021, the third consecutive day of intense bombardment during the escalation, he became one of the many victims. At approximately 18:30, an Israeli drone fired a missile at a group of citizens standing near al-Ihsan Mosque in Nusseirat. The strike instantly killed Ahmad along with three others: Hamzah Mahmoud al-Hor (25), Mohammed ‘Abdel Men’em Shahin (27), and Mohammed Mo’in al-Qar’ah (26). Two others were moderately wounded. Ahmad’s death was part of a particularly bloody day in Gaza, where more than 30 Palestinians were killed in a series of airstrikes that devastated residential neighborhoods, destroyed homes, damaged schools and medical facilities, and spread fear among civilians. His killing was documented by the Palestinian Center for Human Rights as one of many instances of civilians falling victim to deliberate airstrikes
Pleas of Surviving Relatives and Family if any
Relatives of Ahmad Walid at-Talla’ al-Omar spoke with deep sorrow after his sudden killing in Nusseirat. His family described him as a kind and hardworking young man who always carried a sense of responsibility toward his loved ones.
One of his brothers, devastated by the loss, said:
“Ahmad had so many dreams he wanted to achieve, but they were buried with him under the rubble. He was not carrying a weapon, he was not a fighter—he was just standing with his friends. Why should our young men be targeted like this?”
His mother, in tears, pleaded:
“I raised my son for thirty years, only to lose him in a single moment. Ahmad was my joy, my comfort. He had plans to build a family, to live a normal life, like anyone deserves. I only ask the world: do not let my son’s blood be forgotten.”
