Luay Mohammad Oudeh was killed in an Israeli airstrike that struck his home.
On May 16, 2021, Israeli warplanes carried out a series of massive airstrikes on Gaza City’s al-Wehda Street, targeting several residential buildings, including the Abu al-Ouf and al-Qulaq family homes. Without warning, missiles struck the buildings, collapsing them over the residents. Luay was inside his home when it was destroyed in the bombardment. He died under the rubble, one of at least 43 Palestinians — including 11 children and 9 women — killed that night. His death was part of a large-scale assault that was later condemned by rights groups for its disproportionate impact on civilians.
