During the protest crackdown in Nurabad-e Delfan, IRGC forces fired live ammunition at demonstrators. Ahad Ebrahimpour Abdoli was struck in the chest, sustaining fatal injuries. Biography
Ahad Ebrahimpour Abdoli was a 34-year-old worker from Nurabad-e Delfan, Lorestan Province. On 1 January 2026, he took part in protests on Azadi Boulevard in his hometown. During the crackdown, he was shot in the chest by Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) forces and later died from his injuries. Following his death, security forces attempted to restrict public mourning, but his funeral on 3 January 2026 was attended by a large crowd, reflecting widespread public grief and solidarity.
Born and raised in Nurabad-e Delfan, Ahad Ebrahimpour Abdoli worked as a laborer and was known locally as an ordinary working-class citizen. Like many Iranians facing economic hardship and political repression, he joined protests that spread across the country at the turn of 2026.
On 1 January 2026, while demonstrations were underway on Azadi Boulevard, IRGC forces used live ammunition against protesters. Ahad was shot in the chest and critically injured. His body was transferred by security forces to Ibn-e Sina Hospital in Nurabad, where authorities summoned his family and reportedly pressured them not to inform the media or hold a funeral ceremony.
After two days, on 3 January, his body was handed over to his family. Despite intimidation and restrictions, a large number of mourners attended his funeral, turning it into a public expression of grief and resistance.
