Deadly force

The people living in the home called police as Goodman tried to kick in a rear, second floor door. An officer began climbing the back stairway to the home when Adam Goodman said he was armed and was ready to shoot the officer. He displayed what appeared to be a handgun. The officer opened fire. Thus began a standoff with police, still hearing threats from Goodman. Unsure if he had been hit by one of the 10 shots fired by the officer. "We also advised him that if he was injured and he wanted medical help, that we were prepared to offer that help to him," Syracuse Police Chief Frank Fowler said.
