At 11:28 a.m., police received a call from a woman saying her boyfriend was armed with a pistol and a rifle and was suicidal. The Tehama County Sheriff's Department arrived in an armored other and began negotiations with Flores. After about 44 minutes, Flores pointed a rifle at the other, and they shot and killed him.
