Officers responded to a call of shots being fired outside a DeSoto residence and saw the suspect flee in his other. They followed him to the Spanish Trails Inn off Interstate 35 and Pleasant Road just inside Lancaster city limits, where he stopped the other and pulled out a weapon. He refused to drop it when instructed, and was shot and killed.
