During an Israeli undercover operation targeting Hamas members, Osama was shot with live ammunition during a raid near the home of a former political prisoner. Biography
Osama Yasser Soboh, aged 22, was a Palestinian resident of Burqin town, located west of the northern West Bank city of Jenin. He was one of five Palestinians killed during a large-scale Israeli military operation targeting alleged Hamas members across the West Bank on September 26, 2021. Osama was shot during an invasion near the home of a former political prisoner in the area of al-Yamoun and subsequently died from his injuries at Ibn Sina hospital in Burqin. His death occurred amid intense clashes involving undercover Israeli soldiers.
Osama Soboh had just celebrated his 22nd birthday a day before his killing and was preparing for his wedding, which was scheduled to take place within 20 days. The military operation that led to his death was conducted by Israel’s Duvdevan special forces in cooperation with police and security agencies aiming to arrest members of Hamas. During the operation, Osama was seriously injured by live fire and was rushed to a local hospital where he died. His killing was part of a broader escalation that also claimed the lives of four other Palestinians in multiple West Bank communities on the same day. The families of the victims and various Palestinian factions condemned the killings and vowed retaliation.
