Ahmad Yasser Nimr al-Nabahin was a 9-year-old Palestinian boy from Al-Bureij refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip. On August 7, 2022, he was tragically killed in an Israeli missile strike targeting his family home during a military offensive. Ahmad was one of three children from the Nabahin family who died in the attack, alongside his siblings Dalia and Mohammad. Their father, Yasser, a captain in Gaza’s nautical police, was also killed in the strike. Ahmad was remembered by his family as a brave and wise boy, despite his young age.

Ahmad Yasser Nimr al-Nabahin grew up in the Al-Bureij refugee camp, a densely populated area in the central Gaza Strip. As the youngest of several siblings, Ahmad was described by his older brother Bilal as mature beyond his years—“like a little man” and a protective, courageous presence within the family. His father, Yasser, was a respected captain in Gaza’s nautical police and was known for his dedication to protecting his community. The family often spent time together in their garden, a peaceful spot in front of their home where Yasser tended to plants and shared moments with his children. On the evening of August 7, 2022, during an Israeli military offensive that had been ongoing for three days, a missile struck their home at around 7:05 p.m., killing Ahmad, his siblings Dalia (14) and Mohammad (12), and their father. Ahmad’s brother Bilal survived but was injured. This devastating event occurred amid a broader Israeli military campaign across Gaza, which caused widespread destruction and loss of civilia
