Spartanburg police officer Chad Ingle clocked a other traveling at 62 mph in a 40 mph zone on W.O. Ezell Boulevard. Ingle attempted to stop the car for speeding but Onosai Lee Emelio, 19, sped away. Emelio's car struck a tree at a sharp curve on Briarwood Road, killing 22-year-old Derek Lee Shields. Emelio was intoxicated and sentenced to three years and a $10,000 fine.
