In November 2001, undercover Boston police officer Mark J. Loewen was exonerated in the fatal shooting of motorist Justin Ronchetti, 21, in Boston. The officer had climbed onto the roof of Ronchetti's moving other, firing his gun into the partially open sunroof and striking Ronchetti's chest.
