The father "called police after his son became violent during an extreme bipolar episode in which he armed himself with two knives. Deputies fought with Morgan who was severely delusional at the time." Family filed a wrongful death suit. King County medical examiner couldn't determine the cause of death at the time (that is when it was ruled accidental), but an expert for the family in the later trial said it was positional asphyxia.
