At Rest

Less-than-lethal force
Sergeant Rodney Evans and Officers Micah Aldred and Bert Dillow repeatedly struck and subdued Torres, a resident alien from Jalisco suffering from hypertension, while responding to a 911 call about a man who was behaving strangely. Officer Dillow noticed that Torres was severely beaten and had his cuffs taken off. Officers called paramedics. Torres died at a hospital of "mechanical asphyxiation." The death resulted in racial controversy because of the severity of Torres's injuries.
This record exists so that Luis Alfonso Torres, and all who are named in this archive, are never reduced to a number.
