Charles Simmons and Paul Simmons were identified as fleeing from the scene of a bank robbery. Pulled over on Interstate 80/35, local officers claimed that both aggressively emerged from their van with weapons drawn. They were fatally shot. Two other accomplices in the van were unharmed. Later reporting said the Simmons only had BB guns.
