Anderson Simpson III was killed when the car he was driving crashed into another other during a police chase. Simpson died the next day from his injuries. Two passengers in the car also were hurt. According to prosecutors, one of the passengers, William C. Scott, 19, had fired shots at a house moments before the crash. The shooting injured no one, but caused Simpson to flee the scene, so prosecutors charged Scott with felony murder.
