Keion Lofton died at about 6:30 a.m. when he lost control of the 1998 GMC pickup he was driving and hit a tree during a police chase that began in Washington Park and ended in Centreville. Centreville Police Chief Curtis McCall said Washington Park police had called his department about 10 minutes before the crash to say they were following Lofton because of traffic violations.
