When Tyson was allegedly involved in a fist fight, West Haven police used attack dogs to attempt to flush him out of hiding in bushes along I-95. Tyson instead fled onto the highway and was struck by a passing truck. In December 2008 the city settled a wrongful death suit with his family for about $400,000. An autopsy revealed 24 dog-bite puncture wounds.
