According to police, at 12:26 a.m. officers saw two vehicles drag racing westbound on East Chicago Street. The officers gave chase when one of the vehicles turned around and headed east. As the fleeing other approached Lott Road, the driver lost control, struck a utility pole and rolled several times. Both occupants were ejected from the other. Arturo Cano died from his injuries.
