Two narcotics officers were investigating reports of possible drug activity about at a home when a man outside the home fled when they tried to speak with him, police said. One of the detectives followed the man on foot while the other followed them in a car. The man ran to the back of a nearby home. He pulled a gun and shot the officer. He was shot and killed.
